Hindustan Ewaste Management Pvt. Ltd. - Producer Responsibility Organization(PRO)

About Us

Taking e-waste recycling to the masses!

With the rapid penetration of IT in almost all spheres of human activity, it is no longer feasible for both businesses and people associated with those entities to ignore the situation and let things happen the same old way. E-waste disposal problem has reached monstrous proportions with river waters in IT-hubs becoming contaminated and poisonous as it is the most toxic and hazardous of all forms of pollution.

  • It is this change that Hindustan –E- waste tries to bring about by advocating the “Reuse-Reduce-Recycle” principle wherein we try to bring back the valuable metals used in electronic products back into the supply chain.
  • Depositing them in landfills or river beds will lead to emission of toxic gases and cause depletion of ozone layer and precipitate global warming.
  • Spreading awareness about e-waste management is our primary mission and it is in sync with the “Bharat Swachata Abhiyan” that has been undertaken by the present NDA government at the Centre.
  • At present there is no formal industry/ process in India to handle the nearly 15lakh metric tonne of e-waste being generated every year.
  • We want to provide e-waste management consultation and offer services to clients across India and help them to recycle/ dispose of e-waste in a better manner.
  • Valuable metals like gold, silver, copper, lead, cadmium can be extracted from e-waste and supplied back to the industry and rural businesses at lower costs.
  • This will bring down the cost of production and trigger growth in the economy as demand is expected to pick up when price of goods experience a downward pressure.
  • We intend to spread awareness by leveraging all forms of media that are consumed by the urban and rural middle classes who form the biggest chunk of electronic products consumers.
  • Not just through media but also through on-ground initiatives, we are trying to raise awareness by supporting recycling legislation, getting the local community involved by setting up drop off points for e-waste so that they do not mix with other kinds of solid or liquid waste.

One option that we suggest is to prevent the growth of e-waste by repairing or upgrading used electrical and electronic equipment. This will reduce the need for developing landfills for disposing e-waste. Landfills should be used as the last option and burial of e-waste in landfills should be done as per the stipulated regulations. Recycling of e-waste will also improve the penetration of electronic products amongst a wider-stratum of the society. We emphasise upon a five step approach towards e-waste management.

  • Reuse of old electronic products
  • Refurbishing of old discarded computers and selling them in the used –goods market
  • Recycling e-waste, recovering metals and supplying raw material back to the industry at low costs
  • Mentoring organizations about e-waste management by offering them consultancy services through email, phone, and on-site visits.
  • MOEF Lab Testing: certain sectors require MOEF testing before using recycling items and these include OEM manufacturers, hospitality, medical equipment suppliers and we offer assistance to get MOEF testing done for relevant industry verticals.

Restoring our bleak future by recycling e-waste!

The above statement quite rightly summarizes the viewpoint on which our business revolves. Just as we are always concerned about replenishing our bank accounts with cash, it’s high time we start replenishing our accounts with Mother Nature also. And if we don’t do that in this generation then our existence and contribution to the society is meaningless.

We envision an e-waste free planet that offers ample scope for green technologies and practices to prosper and create a cleaner, greener planet for the future.

What we do …

  • Collection and storage of E-waste
  • Segregation of E-waste per Govt norms
  • Functional Testing
  • Dismantling
  • Data Destruction
  • Compliant Disposition of End-of-Life Electronics
  • Orgenizing scrap recovery and recycling (Read More)

How We Work

The above statement quite rightly summarizes the viewpoint on which our business revolves. Just as we are always concerned about replenishing our bank accounts with cash, it’s high time we start replenishing our accounts with Mother Nature also. And if we don’t do that in this generation then our existence and contribution to the society is meaningless.

We inherited a vibrant planet from our forefathers and it is our duty to pass on the same to the coming generations. Let us not accumulate environmental debts which our children will have to pay by living in a swarming, suffocating planet heading towards economic and topographical implosion and extinction of all forms of plant and animal life.

Ever wondered why the poor live in misery all their lives and even die mired in poverty?

The reason is that they do not have access to cheaper sources of renewable energy from the developed world. And it is this problem that Hindustan E-Waste attempts to solve by offering reusable products or raw materials to people at the bottom of the pyramid at lower than market costs to trigger economic growth in this stratum of the society. Of course, manufacturing firms that consume raw materials like plastic and aluminium in small and medium companies are also on our radar screen.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with one small step”

Yes, and that small step has been taken by the resourceful trio of Mr.Sanjay Dubey, Mr. Sandeep Sharma and Mr.Shekhar Sharma who set up Hindustan E-Waste in order to make a difference to the planet we live in and in the process set new benchmarks for social entrepreneurship not just in India but also in the entire world.

  • Spreading awareness about e-waste management and leaving behind a better world for our children is what drives the trio to work day in and day out in the accomplishment of this mission. Captivated by the idea to create the most respected social enterprise that is committed to the environment and does its level best to recycle e-waste without resorting to land-filling or burning that will release harmful gases and leave non-biodegradable residue.
  • Our aim is to emerge as the “Go-To” company when it comes to advice regarding e-waste management to both non-profit and for-profit institutions. Recycling e-waste in compliance with the regulations stipulated for reusing, reducing and recycling e-waste (without any hazardous impact) requires deep domain knowledge that only we can provide.
  • Key focus areas of our company include: Electronics Manufacture industry, Govt, BPO and any regular or mass consumer of electronic products. And we intend to reach a gross turnover on INR 20Crores in the next years before going in for a public listing.
